BKPM Head Bahlil Lahadalia said the JIIPE Industrial Estate became one of the leading areas that could be offered to investors to invest in Indonesia. Bahlil said the advantage of JIIPE is that it is integrated between industrial estates and ports. Especially if the technology and manufacturing KEK can be immediately determined, it will be an extraordinary attraction for investors.
Bahlil said, JIIPE has a good concept, which is an industrial area that is directly connected to the port. For this reason, Bahlil believes that this has the potential and can invite investors. JIIPE is the first industrial estate in East Java that is integrated directly with the port, with a total area of 2,961 hectares.
With the coordination meeting between JIIPE, BKPM, and the local government on the planned JIIPE Industrial Estate to become a technology and manufacturing KEK, it is expected to be realized soon.
Director of Pelindo III, Doso Agung, said that currently together with the Head of the Investment Coordinating Board (BKPM) Bahlil Lahadalia and the directors of JIIPE have held a coordination meeting to accelerate the formation of JIIPE as KEK. PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Pelindo) III (Persero) as one of the shareholders of JIIPE applied for a technology and manufacturing special economic zone (KEK) for JIIPE.
