East Java is one of the manufacturing-based provinces, because the industry is able to contribute to the regional economy by 40 percent, the highest after Banten and West Java. And Gresik Industrial Estate is an area that is able to support the regional economy by accommodating many industries to operate and develop their land. One of them is JIIPE Gresik Industrial Estate.
JIIPE Industrial Estate Development in Gresik is a collaboration between AKR Corporindo through its subsidiary, PT Usaha Era Pratama Nusantara and Pelindo III through its subsidiary, PT Berlian Jasa Terminal Indonesia. Total investment in the development of the JIIPE industrial estate in Gresik amounted to Rp5 trillion since 2012.
The JIIPE Gresik Industrial Area consists of 1,761 hectares (Ha) of industrial area, 400 hectares of port, and 800 hectares of independent city residential area. A number of industries that have entered JIIPE Gresik Industrial Estate, include the chemical plant PT Clariant Indonesia, the salt factory PT UnichemCandi Indonesia, PT Nippon Indosari Corporindo Tbk (Sari Roti), the fertilizer company PT Hextar Fertilizer Indonesia, as well as the concrete and construction company PT Adhimix Precast Indonesia.
JIIPE Gresik Industrial Estate has been strengthened with a power plant with a capacity of 13 Megawatts since November 2017. In addition, it is supported by Water Treatment Plant, a gas pipeline network that is currently connected to the Perusahaan Gas Negara (PGN) gas pipeline, telecommunications systems with fiber optic and internet broadband, and ports that can reduce logistics costs and industrial production costs.
