Carpal Tunnel Syndrome or CTS is a condition that causes the fingers to experience a sensation of pins and needles, numbness, or pain. The areas that are often affected are the thumb, middle finger and index finger. Symptoms that appear usually develop slowly and will get worse at night.
uoted from the First Aid Clinic BKMS JIIPE Publishing Edition July 2020, symptoms that occur in Carpal Tunnel Syndrome include:
- Sensation of tingling or numbness
- Pain in 3 fingers (thumb, index and middle finger)
- Weak fingers
- Feel like a pricked finger
- There is pain that runs in the arm
The causes that have been explained by the First Aid Clinic BKMS JIIPE are due to heredity, injury to the wrist during activities, pregnancy, and other medical conditions.
