East Java Industrial Estate JIIPE is one of the industrial estates in Indonesia that has used natural gas supplied by PGN (Perusahaan Gas Negara) to meet the energy needs to support the industrial activities of the factories in it.
Related to the use of natural gas that has been applied in the East Java Industrial Zone of JIIPE, PGN's Managing Director, Gigih Prakoso believes that the potential for natural gas utilization in Indonesia is still very large. One of the most potential sectors to disseminate the use of natural gas is the industrial sector, including the East Java Industrial Zone, JIIPE.
When compared with other fuels, such as fuel oil or BBM, the use of natural gas is far more profitable for businesses in the East Java Industrial Zone of JIIPE. This is because natural gas prices are cheaper and more efficient in use than other energy sources. From the environmental aspect, natural gas in the East Java Industrial Zone JIIPE is a cleaner energy source, so as to minimize the negative impact on the environment during and after the process of its use.
East Java Industrial Estate JIIPE itself is the largest industrial estate in East Java as well as the first integrated industrial area in Indonesia which has been equipped with ports and docks for cruise ships and housing with the concept of an environmentally friendly independent city, named GEM City, with various exclusive facilities, such as the field golf and shopping center.
